After the recent string of sexual assaults, the City of San Marcos will release daily updates about the investigation with the help of the Texas Department of Public Safety’s Texas Rangers and the FBI’s Central Texas Violent Crimes Task Force.

Updates will be posted on the city’s Facebook page daily at 4 p.m. The updates come after investigators arrested 27-year-old Keith Vallen Louis III for the sexual assault that occurred April 29 at The Edge apartments.

However, Louis is not involved with the additional three incidents occurring at the Cottages and the Retreat within the last two weeks, police said.

The suspect was able to get into each victim’s apartment through an unlocked door or unlocked window. Police say each crime was committed in the middle of the day by a man wearing all black clothing, black slip-on sandals and a mask that covered the lower half of his face.

Police released a sketch of the suspect after a victim saw his face. The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 6 feet, 2 inches to 6 feet, 3 inches tall. He was last seen wearing a long sleeve black shirt, black pants, black gloves and black mask covering his face/hair.

Anyone with information about these cases can call Detective Dave Campbell at (512)-753-2312.
