UPDATE: 1:04 p.m.

Keith Louis III was arrested today at noon in Austin. He will be transported to the Hays County Jail today.

He was located by members of the investigative team, and he was then arrested by members of the United States Marshals Lone Star Violent Crimes Task Force.

The investigation on whether Louis was involved in all sexual assault cases between last week and this week is still on going.

Police are searching for a suspect involved in two sexual assaults that occurred between last week and this week on Craddock Avenue. Another suspect found for a sexual assault at the Edge.

May 2 at about 12:30 p.m. a female resident and her roommate at the Retreat apartments were taken at gunpoint inside their apartment. The gunman bound the victims, and physically and sexually assault them for about three hours that afternoon.

The victims called San Marcos Police at around 3:27 p.m. Police arrived about four minutes later. The suspect had already fled the scene. Police stayed at the scene late into the night.

Police Chief Chase Stapp said this crime almost identically matches the crime at the Cottages. The suspect is described as a black 6’3 male in all black clothing.

While police were at the Retreat, another emergency call was made at the Edge apartments, down the road. The call described a girl they heard a scream and say something about rape.

When authorities arrived, the suspect had also fled. The victim reported she had been sexually assaulted by her roommate on April 29. She had not seen her roommate since until she saw him yesterday and screamed.

The roommate was identified as Keith Vallen Louis III. Louis was a Texas State music student set to graduate in 2018 but did not according to the registrar’s office. His description of a black 5’10 male matches the description of all black clothing of the first suspect on the run. Police are determining if Louis committed the crimes at the Cottages and Retreat. Police are actively trying to get Louis into custody.

Stapp said if anyone has a story to tell, then they want to hear it and to be vigilant.

Any information should be reported to the San Marcos Police Department.
