SMPD investigates sexual assault at gunpoint

On April 24, a man broke into a women’s apartment, held her at gunpoint and sexually assaulted her. The San Marcos Police Department is searching for the suspect.
The victim told police when she got home at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday, she found an unknown assailant in her bedroom.
The man was described as a black male in his 20s with an athletic build, about 6 feet tall and was last seen in a black sweatshirt, pants, gloves, socks and slide sandals with a mask covering the lower half of his face.
The victim arrived at the San Marcos Police Department and reported she was a victim of sexual assault at 7:18 p.m. the same day. An investigation determined the offense occurred at the victim’s apartment complex, the Cottages of San Marcos.
