City council takes steps towards designating San Marcos as mermaid capital of Texas

San Marcos City Council spoke about a resolution seeking state legislative action to designate San Marcos as the mermaid capital of Texas at the April 16 City Council meeting.
The legislative action faces two different resolutions, a concurrent and simple, going through the state Senate.
Discussion regarding the seeking of state legislation designation of, “Mermaid Capital of Texas,” will go to vote on May 7.
