Texas bolsters their record to 32-8 while Texas State drops to 19-16 on the season.
The Bobcats immedieatley got off on the wrong foot in the first inning as they allowed a two-run home run by the Longhorns to fall 2-0.
After allowing a couple of runs in the 3rd and 5th innings, Texas State faltered in the 6th inning allowing six runs including two 3-run home runs to complete the mercy rule.
the Bobcats’ offense was never able to get off the ground during the entire game as Texas State was only able to muster two hits.
The ‘Cats were able to put runners in scoring position in the 5th and 6th inning but were able to capitalize on the scoring opportunities.
Texas State returns to action this weekend with a three-game home series against Appalachian State starting 5:30 p.m. Friday at the Bobcat softball complex.
