The Texas State baseball team (14-9, 3-2 Sun Belt) continued to win over the three-game weekend series against the University of Louisiana Monroe Warhawks (7-15, 0-4) 6-5 at the Bobcat Ballpark Saturday afternoon
Not even a late comeback attempt by the Warhawks, with three earned runs in the ninth inning, could deflate the Bobcat offense.
Nicholas Fraze (3-2) got the series rolling in the first game with his third win of the season. Fraze gave up three hits, one earned run, two walks and struck out four batters in seven innings of work.
Kyle Bradford and Zachary Leigh each pitched an inning, and held ULM scoreless in the last two frames.
Texas State broke up a 1-1 tie in the bottom of the seventh earning four more runs in the last two innings.
Will Hollis led Texas State in offensive efficiency getting two hits and an RBI in three at-bats. Hollis extends his reached base streak to 16 games.
Texas State gets back to work against ULM in the third game of the series at 1:00 p.m. Sunday at Bobcat Ballpark in San Marcos.
