Elliott was sentenced to 14 years in prison, with 10 years community service. Elliot received seven years for each count of intoxication manslaughter.

A former Texas State student has plead guilty to two counts of intoxication manslaughter and one count of intoxication assault with a vehicle after killing two people in an alcohol-related crash and awaits sentencing.
Shana Elliott was attending Texas State in Fall 2016 when she, at 21 drank and drove. She hit another vehicle killing Fabian Guerrero, a San Marcos resident, injuring his wife, Kristian Guerrero, and killing their unborn child as a result of injuries sustained in the crash.
On March 6, Elliott pleaded guilty and is currently awaiting sentencing. Typically, Intoxication manslaughter carries a maximum sentence of 20 years. With two counts, Elliot could be facing 40 years in prison.
Elliott’s sentencing could be decided by a jury and delivered this afternoon, according to the 274th Judicial District Court.
