Santa’s Jingle Bell Run 5K and Kids K scheduled for Dec. 12 have been canceled out of precaution due to COVID-19. Those registered for the 2020 races will have their registration valued for 2021.
The races are organized annually by the Sights & Sounds of Christmas Foundation, a local nonprofit that aims to provide the San Marcos community with holiday events and a festival that attracts over 50,000 guests annually.
The Sights & Sounds of Christmas Foundation’s board of directors is exploring alternative options for the annual Christmas festival and will provide additional updates as plans progress.
“We are currently working with City leaders and our other partners to determine the format of the 2020 Sights & Sounds of Christmas,” first-year board of directors President David Case said in a press release. “Our goal remains to keep the 34 years of Christmas tradition alive during these tumultuous times.”
