The Hays County Health Department reports 19 new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 60 recoveries Oct. 9, bringing the total number of cases in the county to 6,037, active cases to 963 and recoveries to 5,019. Total active cases in the last 21 days is 318.

San Marcos, Kyle and Buda have 173, 533 and 167 active cases, respectively.

According to Epidemiologist Eric Schneider, the total number of received negative tests in the county is now 29,874. The total number of hospitalizations is 350 and total current hospitalizations is 11 after three new individuals were hospitalized. There have been 55 fatalities in the county.
