Texas State men’s basketball team fell to Lousiana Monroe Warhawks 63-60 Thursday night at Strahan Arena. The loss ended the four-game win streak and moved Texas State (21-6, 10-4) into a 1st place tie with Georgia State.
Tre’Larenz Nottingham and Eric Terry led the way for the Bobcats with 41 combined points. Texas State shot 85% from the line (12-14) but only 21% from 3 (6-28). As a team, the Bobcats shot 33% from the field (21-64).
Texas State went up 26-25 after a 3-pointer by Nottingham with 3 minutes left in the 1st half. However, they trailed the rest of the game. Monroe’s largest lead was 14 before Texas State cut it down to a three-point game. The final possession ended with a three-point heave that hit the left side of the glass.
Texas State returns to Strahan Saturday, Feb. 23 against Louisiana Lafayette for Senior Night.
